iRacing's Tempest System Changes the Game

iRacing’s new Tempest weather system has been warmly received by the sim racing community, with many impressed with its realism and spray effects.

The way cars throw up water is especially immersive, with players surprised at how blinding it can be following other cars at speed - especially high-downforce open-wheelers an prototypes.

Wet lines have also been implemented convincingly, with wet compound tyres overheating markedly as tracks dry out.

Was it worth the long wait, though? Judging from early impressions, it seems so.
