Le Mans Ultimate’s Big Release

Last week, sim racing chatter was understandably dominated by the Early Access release of Le Mans Ultimate. Much of the sim racing community didn’t believe the game would ever see the light of day given MSG’s precarious financial and licensing situations in recent months, but it’s here.

And it feels like a moderately successful soft launch for the sim, with Early Access giving it vital space to improve before a full 1.0 release.

But the late change of plan to switch to an Early Access release does indicate that LMU was very close to being made available in an unfinished state, which would surely have led to disastrous consequences for the sim’s - and MSG’s - future prospects. Thankfully, this was not the case.

Let’s stay positive, however, and hope Le Mans Ultimate becomes the incredible WEC simulator the sim racing community deserves.
