GTRevival to use ‘whole new engine’ says Bell

Ian Bell, the figurehead of GTRevival developer Straight4 Studios, revealed in an interview with TopGear.com that the upcoming sim will employ an entirely new game engine.

Despite many observers believing it would use a version of Slightly Mad Studios’ MADNESS engine - successfully employed by close partner Reiza Studios in Automobilista 2 - GTRevival will have a “whole new engine,” according to Bell.

“And that means our community can expect us to take a few big leaps because we’re not ‘patching’ an engine that is ten or even twenty years old,” he continued.

Hopefully the end result is more GTR2 than Fast and Furious Crossroads, eh Ian?

“You don’t need gameplay when you got family.”

Indeed, Vin, indeed.
